Duke Wenceslas is a very good Duke. He is a strong christian though his mother is a strong pagan. His father died when Wenceslas was 12 years old and he became Duke when he was 18 years old. His grandmother, Ludmilla, shared the gospel to him and that's why, he became a christian. His grandmother's prayer is that when Wenceslas becomes Duke, he would become a good christian ruler. But his mother is so angry, that she killed Wenceslas' Grandmother! Drahomira, Wenceslas mother, brought her son back to the castle and taught the pagan ways to him. But he stood on his faith on Jesus Christ and he kept his faith in secret. But in year A.D. 922 his mother was banished because of what she had done to Ludmilla. Wenceslas forgave Drahomira and brought her back. That is when he became a Duke. He cared for the poor, gave bread to the needy and gave a home to the homeless.
Death of Wenceslas His brother, Boleslav, was very jealous of him because Wenceslas has a son so he will not be a Duke because the son of Wenceslas will be next in line to be a Duke. So he started the plot of murder and invited his own brother to the church but Wenceslas was warned that his brother might kill him and he must be careful! But he courageously attended the invitation and when he came to the church, Boleslav took his sword and stabbed him! Wenceslas died on September 28, 929 and there is a Christmas carol that he is the king of the Scotts but he's the Duke of the Scotts in reality. It's on the top of the story hope you enjoy it. Moral of the story of Wenceslas The moral of the story is being kind to someone in need or somebody that needs help. Like God gave his help to the people on earth because he knew that if we continued sinning we'll go to the lake of fire ( hell)!!! So ( HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON THAT WHO EVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE JOHN 3:16 ). |
